The Story

Part I Genesis - The Beginning

Part II The Fall From Grace

Part III Redemption

Part IV Resurrection

Part V The Reckoning

To him whom much is given, much is required.

Are we destined down this path, destined to destroy ourselves like so many before us. Or can we evolve fast enough to change ourselves, change our fate. And it's not a religious thing. It's a quality of life thing.

To him whom much is given, much is required.

The Science of Running: Know the facts

And just so you runners starting out are armed with the correct interpretation. It's just the opposite of what you would think. Marathon distance (at a steady pace) and longer (to a point) modulates the immune system, testosterone levels and multiple endocrine functions. It does this in a fairly controlled manner, the result of which, is a stronger immune, higher testosterone and better endocrine function.

This is what the latest science dictates with a consensus. You don't have to believe it but that won't change the conclusions.

Only those who seek to justify their inability or their own laziness would have an agenda and a say to the contrary.

Don't let the poison of the media and the American culture influence you. Do your research. Experiment and above all else, act.

We must RUN to the light.

Compassion and Hope

Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future. - N.M.

And I've learned some interesting things about people and life. It's not that our troubles are so different, life is life. It falls on the just and the unjust. Our pains our quite similar. It's our solutions that are different.

Certainly the most destructive vice if you like, that a person can have. More than pride, which is supposedly the number one of the cardinal sins - is self pity. Self pity is the worst possible emotion anyone can have. And the most destructive. It is, to slightly paraphrase what Wilde said about hatred, and I think actually hatred's a subset of self pity and not the other way around - ' It destroys everything around it, except itself'.

Self pity will destroy relationships, it'll destroy anything that's good, it will fulfill all the prophecies it makes and leave only itself. And it's so simple to imagine that one is hard done by, and that things are unfair, and that one is underappreciated, and that if only one had had a chance at this, only one had had a chance at that, things would have gone better, you would be happier if only this, that one is unlucky. All those things. And some of them may well even be true. But, to pity oneself as a result of them is to do oneself an enormous disservice. - S.F.

Do Not Go Gentle (featuring Timothy Olson) by Unger Motivation

“We face up to awful things because we can't go around them, or forget them. The sooner you say 'Yes, it happened, and there's nothing I can do about it,' the sooner you can get on with your own life. You've got children to bring up. So you've got to get over it. What we have to get over, somehow we do. Even the worst things.” - Annie Proulx

I never saw a wild thing...

I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself. - D. H. L.

Time to Pray

"As you walk upon the sacred earth, treat each step as a prayer." - Black Elk
